Speakers: Donal Twomey (Partner, Ronan Daly Jermyn) & Des Murphy (Director, MBC Insurances Cork)


SPEAKERS:


Donal Twomey, Partner, Ronan Daly Jermyn
After graduating from UCC in 2002, Donal trained and worked as a solicitor in the construction/projects department of Arthur Cox. Thereafter, he worked for five years in a Dublin based law firm specialising in professional indemnity defence work before returning to Cork in 2014 to work in Ronan Daly Jermyn where he is Partner.

Donal has extensive experience of professional indemnity disputes and commercial litigation. In particular, he advises insurers in the Irish Professional Indemnity market in respect of claims brought against various professionals including engineers, architects, accountants and solicitors.

Des Murphy, Director MBC Insurances Cork
Des has worked in the insurance industry for over 24 years. Des was President of the Insurance Institute of Cork in 2002/2003. He was one of the founding members of Broker Federation of Ireland (BFI) and was national Chairman for two years in 2010 to 2012,and he still sits on the board of directors.

• Overview of the process for the development of residential housing estates in Cork city from planning to taking in charge stage.
• Review of the policy documents guiding developers including;
o Minimum Engineering Requirements for Residential Site Development Works,
o Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets
o Cork City Council Taking in Charge Policy.
• Requirements for development bonds.
